HMS Orkney can offer the following survey capabilities:

Drop Down Camera Systems (non ROV)

Available on hire from Seatronics, Aberdeen a range of different underwater camera systems and lighting options including video and digital stills with strobe.

Used in conjunction with the top side computer system this digital drop down camera system and external flash gun can capture images of the seabed up to 150 msw.

 

 

 Used in conjunction with the top side computer system this drop down camera video system can capture video of the seabed up to 150 metres deep and the sub sea LED lights can be controlled to give optimum lighting levels.

SpyBall

Available for hire at short notice!

SpyBall Camera (black and white) giving good quality images in low light conditions with optional subsea lamp. 360 degree rotation allows complete flexability in viewing with no restriction.  Ideal choice for remote inspection, seabed topography survey and hull inspection to 150msw.

 

Magnetometer

 

 The AX2000 Magnetometer is a boat towed devise that is capable of detecting magnetic field variations and anomalies on the seabed caused by deposits of iron be it natural or anthropogenic such as ship wrecks, subsea cable with armour, chain and large mooring systems amongst others.

 

Side Scan Sonar

EasyTrak

EasyTrak is a underwater tracking and positioning system that uses a single transducer to communicate with a beacon on the vessel through acoustic signals giving location, range and depth information.  Typical use are diver mounted and ROV mounted.
